Hi Liz,
I received your name from Phyllis Chen. I am the president of a composers’ collective based here in Astoria. We’re going to try to put together a concert series of new music ensembles and individual artists for the spring and summer of 2011. We’re seeking proposals for the concert series. Phyllis thought you might be able to help us promote the call for proposals. To see the general call for proposals (and to learn more about our composers’ collective), please go to http://www.ram-nyc.org.
Thanks!

Hi! My name is Shannon Carlin and I’m a journalist who is covering the Queens area. I wrote a story about Art House Astoria, a creative arts conservatory in Astoria. I posted a video and a brief bio on my blog and I’d love to share it with all the Local718 readers.
Here’s the link if you’d like to check it out and spread the word!

Last night I went to german restaurant called Wunderbar here in LIC. I drank a beer in one liter glass and had a bratwurst. It was awesome, just like in Germany. I highly recommend this place to the bigger groups. I’ ll be there again with my friends.

I was reading the lines above where you were talking about a place to get icecream and I wondered… ” have you been by the corona lemon ice king?” its over on 108th st and I wanna say 50th ave or thereabouts. It unbelievably awesome. Not icecream, but for the lactose intolerant among us… its the best thing since… well, lactaid. Check it out. Tons of flavors, cheap prices, and that neighborhood is a great cultural enclave of latin americans. Also, there is a place in jackson heights on Junction blvd just a block or two north of Roosevelt. Its called All the Right and its a really unique and cool hiphop store. A source for all things hiphop, records, spraypaint, graffiti t-shirts and hoodies, etc. I found it cool… maybe your readers would too! -Andy
